Oliver got to spend his spring break in Oklahoma, golfing with Ty, Grandpa Kermit and Kyle. They golfed over 100 holes during their trip and God blessed them with some gorgeous spring weather. I know they had a lot of fun and made some great memories. I'm so thankful that Oliver got to have this time with the Deterding men! Here's Oliver to fill you in on some of the details of their trip.
For Spring Break this year, I went on a golf trip with Grandpa, Ty, Kyle, and some of their buddies. We were at a resort called Shangri-La in Grand Lake Oklahoma.
The first course we played was a par 3 course called The Battlefield. It was a nice course and a good place to get warmed up for the next days.
The actual course at the resort was a 27 hole course with 3 nine hole courses built into it. The three courses were called Heritage, Legends, and Champions.
The last hole on the Legends course had an island green, which was awesome to try to hit.
There were also pickleball courts and basketball courts at the resort. We played a lot of pickleball and basketball in the evenings
The last day we played at a course in Pittsburg called Crestwood Country Club. It was pretty nice, although not as nice as the previous courses we had played.
Pittsburg seemed to have just had a monsoon come through, and the course was absolutely soaked. By about the 3rd hole, my shoes were getting pretty muddy and wet, so I decided to go barefoot for the remainder of the round. It was interesting
This is a whole group shot of everyone who went on the trip with us.
It was a fun trip, but it was tiring as well. We played 18 holes on Sunday, 36 holes on both Monday and Tuesday, and 18 holes on Wednesday.
