Oliver's Junior Basketball Season

Oliver finished up his junior basketball season and had a great one! I'm in denial that I only have one more year of watching a son play for the Eagles.  Here's Oliver to give you a re-cap. . .

This year's basketball season was really fun. I got to start and play most of the JV games, which is always a good time, and I got to sit on the bench in the varsity.

The first game we played was at Heritage, which was a tough test. It was also the only game I actually got to play in the Varsity for a little bit. It was pretty fun.

I shot a lot of threes during the games, which is really fun.

This one was at the end of the varsity game, and we were 3 threes from the single game record. I couldn't quite get the job done.

We are always taught to push the ball up the floor quickly, so I tried to look up the court and get some fastbreak points whenever I could.

Driving to the basket is probably my favorite thing to do. I had a few good moves this season.

I kind of look like the Jordan logo here.

Whenever you get a little guy on you, you have to get the post bag working. As Kyle would say, "Mouse in the House!"
This was the game Kyle was at. He liked my Mouse in the House work.

Shooting free throws is my best attribute.

I'm not great at defense, but I think I am getting better.

One of my best rebounds on the year.

It was cool that Grandma Shirley got to come watch Kohen and I play together.

I was on the Sub-State roster, although it didn't last for long. Not quite as fun of a sit-on-the-end-of-the-bench experience as Matt had last year.

I always have a good cheering section for all of my games.

The end-of-year basketball banquet is always interesting.
It was a great season and I am going to miss playing with these seniors. Next year should be alright for sure.

Boys Spring Break Golf Trip

Both of my boys were lucky enough to get to join Grandpa Kermit, Kyle and Ty on a Spring Break golf trip to Bella Vista, Arkansas.  I know they had some great days on the beautiful courses.  Although the golf was fun, I'm most thankful for the bonds my boys have with their cousins, uncles and grandpas.  It's such a huge blessing from God!  I'll let Oliver tell you a little more about their trip.

For this year's Spring Break, we went to Bella Vista, Arkansas for a golf trip. I went to Shangri-La in Oklahoma last year, but it was Calvin's first time going on a golf trip.

The first day we played was St. Patty's day, and as you can see, Calvin really went all out. I don't own a single green polo, so I wasn't in the spirit.

This finishing hole was really cool at the first course we played, which was Dogwood Golf Course.

I played decent throughout the trip, but it was really windy the whole time, which is why I have my hat on backwards.

It's always fun being around Grandpa, Kyle and Ty, especially when you get to golf everyday.

"I could see it right there." Calvin did not end up with a ball in his hand after this. It was pretty hilarious watching from the green.

Scotsdale was my favorite course of the three we played, which is where Calvin went into the water looking for his ball.

Our house had a hot tub, which got a lot of use while we were there.

This was at Bella Vista Country Club, the third course we played. It was nice as well, and it had a huge pro shop and restaurant.

This was the last day, when we decided for some reason that we should go play another 18, even though it was 40 degrees and windy with sleet.

We tapped out halfway through and went and sat in the hot tub. It was a great decision.

We had a little watch party for the March Madness games on Friday after we got back.

It was a really fun Spring Break. It's hard to beat golf and March Madness.
