Violet's Success at Job Olympics

While the boys are getting medals at track meets and golf meets, Violet is bringing home hardware from her Job Olympics!  Her events this year were Washcloth Folding, Stocking Product, and Sorting Towels, and she placed in ALL THREE!  Here are the Wellsville crew, ready for their competitions.

She also participated in Job Interview and I love how focused she is as Jayci interviews her.

Getting her medals!
Way to go, girls!
Violet was so excited for her Job Olympics Day, and I'm thankful she had such a great time!

NHS Time for Oliver

This week Oliver was inducted into the Wellsville High School chapter of the National Honor Society.  This induction ceremony was extra-special because, as an officer, Calvin was one of those inducting him! (The other thing that made this one more special that Calvin's is that they had cookies this time.  Other than than, it was the same 8-minute ceremony as before.)

Jayden introduced Calvin and he talked about the NHS pillar of "character" and lit the green candle.
It's pretty special having both of my boys up there together!
Then Oliver said the pledge and received his certificate -- officially a National Honor Society member!
We got a picture of the new class of inductees as well as the whole group of WHS NHS members.
I had to get pictures of my handsome boys.  Yes, I will always claim Matt as mine :)
Oliver got home from golf practice with just a few minutes to get ready for the ceremony, so I had his clothes laid out for him.  When Calvin saw it, he said, "That's the exact same drip I wore when I was inducted!" I say don't mess with success. (So yes, Grandpa Elmer's suit continues to get good use.)
How blessed we are with these boys of ours! Congrats to BOTH of them!

Violet's Frozen Musical!

What a fun week for Violet!  My girl has been talking about her musical literally since the day school started in August.  She has been SO excited for it, and finally the day arrived!  They did a matinee performance on Sunday and their evening performance on Monday -- the kids did AWESOME!

Violet was a part of the "Snow Chorus" -- a precious group of girls who came out to symbolize Elsa's ice magic. This meant that Violet had quite a few scenes she was involved in!
She had so many fans there on Sunday! (I'll share pics from the actual performance on Monday when I had a front row seat).  Ms. Dani and the Speers were there. . .
. . . along with Grandmas and Grandpa, Aunt Joy, Syd, Maddie, Sam and Georgia!
She was also SUPER excited that Deb, Tiffany, Lexi and Nick could come.  They brought her some gorgeous flowers for her big day!  And of course, Mrs. Patton was there, helping every step of the way.  Violet is so lucky to have Mrs. Patton in her life!

Monday evening I got there early so our family could have front row seats.  It was another GREAT performance, and I think she was even more animated because she could see us cheering her on. Prepare for a bit of a picture overload.  She just did SO WELL.
She gave us several "thumbs ups" throughout the musical.
The sheer scarves would really start waving and flying when the ice magic was at its greatest.
I found these three super-fans at intermission, enjoying the show.
Then Elsa sings the famous, "Let it Go" and transforms into her new self.  Violet LOVED this part.
Possibly the best part of the entire production was the curtain call on the final night.  Violet just kept bowing until they sang an encore of "Let it Go" at which point she really started performing!  Here are a few still pics of bowing, clapping, and overall jubilation:
And here's the most adorable video you'll ever see.  Seriously, I've probably watched it 100 times.
And then Miss Dominguez came out and we all clapped a whole bunch more!
After the final show, we got more pictures of course, starting with other members of the cast: Izzy, Lucas, and Cadee.  I'm so thankful for the great friend Izzy is to Violet -- she was an awesome help throughout the practices and performances.
And she had so many more adoring fans come to cheer her on!  Wes and Dana, John and Becky. . .
. . . the Taylor family. . .
. . . and of course, HER family! This middle school musical was a really great experience for Violet. I'm so thankful for Jenna Dominguez and all of the staff who helped make it a reality. And I'm thankful for all of the sweet classmates who are always willing to help and include Violet.  She's one lucky girl!
