A Blessed Wedding Day for Uncle John & Aunt Becky!

What an absolutely perfect day we had celebrating with John and Becky as they said their vows before God and all of their family and friends!  It was a really, really wonderful day!  I know there will be lots of amazing pictures from the photographer (that hopefully I'll be able to share), but I couldn't wait that long to do this post, so here are a few pics for now. . .

John and Becky's wedding weekend began on Friday as we all spent the afternoon at the beautiful Stony Point venue getting everything decorated for the big day on Saturday.
Becky and her mom, Patty, had so many beautiful items to decorate the entry way. . .
. . . and I especially loved this frame with pictures of both sets of parents on their wedding days as well as an engagement picture of John and Becky.

The head table and all of the guest tables looked so beautiful!

Once the decorating was complete, we had the rehearsal and it was COLD.  As we shivered in our sweaters, we ladies were a little nervous about wearing our sleeveless dresses the next day!  The kids didn't seem to care about the cold.  Evie and Kyla had fun playing on some of the cool pieces around the property, like the stagecoach and telephone booth.  They are such hams!
We enjoyed a delicious rehearsal dinner at El Patron in Baldwin, and then all headed home to get some sleep before the big day.  Saturday morning, Jenna and Laura met us at Joy's before 8 a.m. to start getting us pretty!  We are so spoiled to have these amazing cousins who are willing to wake up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday to do our hair and make-up!
Once we were done, we headed back to Stony Point to do a quick run-through with the Pastor (who was unable to be there for the rehearsal the night before) and then get the little girls ready.  Evelyn looked so pretty with her hair done and we all used the beaded bobby pins that we'd made last weekend at our bachelorette party.
The venue had a "she-shed" that we ladies were able to use for getting ready.  It was a dance party in there most of the morning!
We waited to have Violet come over with Syd and Sam so that it wouldn't be such a long day for her.  They did a fabulous job on her hair!

The cake and cupcake stands made by Becky's brother, Justin, turned out just gorgeous. And her sister-in-law, Aimee, frosted all of those cupcakes -- talk about a talented family!
Decorations went up outside, including the unity sand shadow box that would be used during the ceremony.
Props were laid out on the photo-booth table and corsages were pinned on all of the wedding party.
We enjoyed spending time outside on this absolutely perfect fall day!  It was seriously 65 degrees, sunny, and no wind.  We couldn't have ordered up a better day!
 Pretty ladies. . .
 . . . and oh-so-handsome boys!
Like I said earlier, the photographer was taking some pictures that I know will be awesome, but there were some phone pics that I was able to take or steal from others.
My mom with her girls. . . and me with mine :)
Goofing around with Wahrenbrock cousins!
Just a few more pics of the awesome day!

The ceremony was very emotional (because when John cries, it's impossible not to join him).  It's just so humbling to experience God's plan in our lives.  We've all been praying for years for the right woman to come into John's life, and I know Becky is the woman we've been praying for our baby brother.  I'm so thankful that they have found what I found with this man 20 years ago.
We are thrilled to have Becky join our family and are so happy for the newlyweds!  We love you both so much!

It was a blessed, God-given day in every way!
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

"Ghoul in School" 4th Grade Musical

Violet's 4th grade musical was last evening and once again, it didn't disappoint!  Our girl loves to sing and she'd been practicing these songs for weeks.  This was her final run-through at home before we left for the big performance:
All was decorated for the spooky "Ghoul in School" theme!
Miss Markley does an awesome job of decorating and making the adorable programs.
And Mrs. Smith volunteered to be Violet's sidekick for the night.  Violet has so many amazing people at the school who love her!
You can tell they were having fun!
"Boo!"

After the program, we had to meet up with the marvelous Miss Markley. . .
. . . as well as a couple of Vi's besties, Nora and Haylee.
This morning, per tradition, the kids headed over to the retirement home to perform for the residents there.  This is equally fun for the kids and adults.  When it was time to choose a resident to sing to, Violet found her way to Ammie in no time.  I loved seeing the smiles on both of their faces as the kids sang "Purple People Eater."
I think Violet may have been more excited about the "field trip" to the nursing home than she was about the actual performance last night.  What a great day!
Another musical in the books!  I can't believe my Vi will only perform one more elementary musical   :(.  What wonderful experiences my kids have had in their music programs!
