The younger 3 Dwyer kidlets got to have a first round of Easter Egg hunts (apparently 3rd grade is too old to do egg hunts at school, so poor Calvin missed out). The girls had their hunt at the library during story hour. Before the hunt started, though, some great Easter books were read by Miss. Robin.
And the girls made an adorable little chick out of their hand prints.
Then it was time to head outside to find some eggs! Hey Violet, you're missing the bag with that egg! If only her glasses would stay up, she might be able to see where to put them.
Evelyn had no trouble rounding up all the eggs she could get her hands on.
Then it was back inside for some yummy cupcakes and to check out the loot in the eggs. So fun!
That afternoon, I headed to Oliver's classroom for the big 1st grade egg hunt. Kids are lined up and ready to. . .
GO!!
These kids were quick!
Four of us moms "hid" all of the eggs in the field and it sure took a lot longer to hide them than it did for the kids to find them! (The only eggs that were actually hidden were the camouflage ones.)
Oliver with a few of his buddies showing off their baskets.
Each class got back together to make sure the kids all had the correct amount of eggs in their baskets.
Show me your favorite egg!
Back in the classroom, they got to open them up to see what goodies were inside. Poor Oliver gave up candy for Lent, so he just got to smell his goodies for now. On a side note, I've been very proud at the willpower of my boys (who both gave up candy on their own without any prompting) throughout these last 40 days or so.
Our Easter egg hunting is off to a great start with plenty more to come this weekend!
