Easter Afternoon

"Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!  Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:  'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Luke 24:5-7

After a wonderful morning at church and Grandma Cheryl's & Grandpa Kermit's, we spent our afternoon with Daddy's side of the family at Grandma Shirley & Grandpa Evan's house.  The ham and brisket dinner was delicious and then the kids got fired up for their final hunt of the season.  And this one never disappoints!  Aunts Jan, Geri, and Candy really make this one a special hunt with all sorts of fun things like play-doh, jump ropes and bubble bath!  The older kids are great helpers with the younger ones to make sure they find all of their loot!
So much to find!  These kids searched far and wide.
For some treats, they even had to search up high!
Looks like the girls' bags are full!
She really wanted to carry her own bag, but it about pulled her over with its weight!
Time to start playing with some of their new toys!  Bubbles are always a hit on a pretty day.

They also played with their new frisbees.
Isn't she gorgeous?!?
It was an absolutely wonderful Resurrection Day!  Jesus sacrifice on the cross and glorious resurrection is certainly something to celebrate EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I love this holiday dedicated to remembering the greatest gift ever given and our new LIFE and PEACE we have in Christ.  He is risen!  He is risen, indeed! Hallelujah!

"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!' After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side.  The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord." John 20:19-20
