Violet Cheers on the Eagles

As an added bonus for Violet's birthday, the high school cheerleaders had chosen this night for the Jr. Cheerleaders to cheer and dance at the home football game!  They held the cheer clinic on Wednesday evening to teach the girls their routine, and last evening, Violet was ready!  Let's go, Mom!!
Some last-minute practicing before we left. . .
. . . and then it was time to go!  As soon as we got there, Violet got her face painted just like the big girls.
"Bye, Mom!"  She wanted nothing to do with me when there were CHEERLEADERS around!
Here they all come on the track to cheer on our Eagles!
Evelyn can't wait to be out there next year!  She and Oliver stood right up front the entire night to watch.
As much as Violet LOVES to cheer, I think the crowd was a bit overwhelming for her.  The poor cheerleaders ended up holding her most of the first half.
Then it was halftime, and time for their big dance routine!  Violet free-styled most of it, but it was sure adorable.  She's just to the right of Uncle John (pink shirt) in this picture, showing off her best moves.
There were a couple of times that she almost was doing the correct move, like this kick.
Regardless, she was having an absolute blast out there!
And here's the routine if you want to see for yourself!
The absolute icing on the birthday cake for this girl was that "Kay-Kay" came to watch her performance!  Kay-Kay is Violet's collective name for Kate and Katelyn, her SLP grad-student rock stars.  You should have seen her sprint across the track when she saw them coming!  And I appreciate that they took the above video for me!  Thanks, Kay-Kay!!
What a fun evening under the Friday night lights!
