This week is a momentous one as we celebrate the baptism birthdays of the two youngest Dwyer girls, first Evelyn's on the 14th and then Violet's today! Per tradition, we get out their baptism boxes and read cards from friends/family, look at pictures, and finish by lighting their candle and singing "Jesus Loves Me." Evelyn loves how her birthday lasts nearly a month each year!
Evelyn is attempting to begin a new tradition this year where we bake cupcakes for the baptism birthday. This girl loves her cupcakes! We'll see if we can remember to do it again next year. (I have a feeling I'll get a reminder.)
In case you'd like a reminder of Evelyn's special day, visit here to remember. It was such a glorious, UNEVENTFUL day! That's my segue into Violet's baptism birthday, which we celebrate today, and which was anything BUT uneventful! We've been discussing miracles with the boys during our morning Bible time and I retold once again the story of Violet's baptism. How we'd had the day planned since before she was born and before we knew of her challenges after birth. How none of the doctors thought there was any chance we'd be home in time for the baptism. How just a couple of days before when Pastor Randy visited us in the NICU we told him we probably wouldn't be there on Sunday. How everyone PRAYED so much for our baby girl to start eating. And how God heard those prayers and we literally made it home less than 12 hours before the baptism was scheduled! Even more amazing was how we got a call Monday morning with the news that she would have to go back to the operating room and that if the surgeon had seen her jaw x-rays on Saturday we would not have been discharged. I truly believe that angels moved on our behalf to hide those x-rays and get us home so Violet could join God's family! Click here to read her baptism story.
We got Violet's baptism box out and lit her candle as well.
We read lots of encouraging Bible verses from her baptism book and sang "Jesus Loves Me" once again.
We are so thankful for our princesses, and that's truly what they are as daughters of the one true King! Happy baptism birthdays to both of my precious girls!
