Yesterday afternoon, my girls and I had a great time at the Mommy-Daughter Fashion Show presented by our wonderful FBLA chapter.
We got dressed up for the occasion, and my girls tried on multiple dresses before they settled on just the right one.
Before the fashion show began, we were treated to lots of yummy desserts.
Before their faces got too messy, we had to get a picture of Violet with her good friend (and cousin) Nora. Aren't they precious??
There was no assigned seating, so our table became the "Library table" as these were all of our friends from story hour.
Hello, chocolate-covered strawberry!
This awesome crew of middle- and high-school FBLA members put on a GREAT fashion show, modeling some really beautiful dresses.

When the ladies were done modeling, the boys who had escorted them took their turn on the cat walk. Miss Vi was the recipient of one of the gorgeous roses. The look on her face when Jeff gave it to her was priceless.
She wanted to put it in her teeth like Jeff did. It didn't have quite the same effect.
Next, the little girls had their chance to work the runway. And Violet couldn't get up there fast enough! In fact, I think she'd tried about a dozen times to get on stage when the 'big girls' were doing their thing -- she couldn't wait! She walked with Grace Newhouse (who had just gone to prom with Jackson last weekend). My picture of her twirling is a bit blurry, but you get the idea.
Violet definitely put her spin on walking the runway. She had to throw in a few dance moves here and there.
Once they hit the catwalk, Violet was off to the races and Grace could barely keep up!
There's no doubt that Violet is made to be in the spotlight!
Next up: Evie June with Grace Showalter, also wearing her beautiful gown from prom last weekend. Blowing kisses to the crowd and giving a twirl. . .
This girl knows how to work it, too!
A huge THANK YOU to all of the high school girls who are so wonderful to my girls!
And a huge THANK YOU to Dawn Rottinghaus, who does so much for our community through FBLA. This beautiful lady has been the FBLA adviser since my high school days and she has been such a blessing to me. I'm excited to think that my kids will also get to have the Rott FBLA experience! Emily and I had to get a picture with her as we were both State Officers back in the day.
I have to share a cute Calvin story. As we were getting ready for the fashion show, Calvin asked me where we were going. When I told him we had a fashion show, he asked me, "Will Violet AND Evelyn be on your team? If you get both of them, you will totally win." Of course everything has to be a competition with my boys, but I thought it was sweet that he thought his sisters were cute enough to win ANY fashion show (even if they have to suffer through having Mom on their 'team'!).
