With the end of the school year approaching, the kids had all sorts of fun activities planned! Violet's class had a cook out (although we stayed indoors where it wasn't quite so windy).
Then we went outside, where there were stations set up with with water balloons, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles. First up, Violet's group got to get a little wet while throwing, batting and sling-shotting water balloons!
She thought it was flat hilarious when Mrs. Garrow started spraying kids with the hose!
Then she moved on to the sidewalk chalk station, where she and her friends created masterpieces on the blacktop.
Her final station was the bubbles, and of course, she loved this one!
Ms. Christie and Ms. Julie (her paras) always take such good care of our Violet!
Calvin's class also had a cookout. They also ate indoors to keep their food from blowing away in the wind.
They were allowed to bring their bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, etc to have an outdoor fun day in the afternoon. Calvin and his buddies figured out that they could really get the RipStik flying if they were pulled by a bike!
Brynn and Ty were already out of school, so I took them with me so they could play with Calvin and Oliver during their fun day.
Calvin got pretty intense while pulling both Ty AND Carson!
Calvin's gang!
Also in the afternoon was the much-anticipated Yearbook Signing! This is a time set aside for kids to run chaotically through the school and try to get as many autographs as possible in 45 minutes time. I'm pretty sure Calvin won the contest. Ty and Brynn even signed a few!
Ms. Christie helped Violet sign yearbooks shoved in front of her face.
The final event of the day was the 5th grade water balloon war. This one was just a bit more intense than what the first graders had done earlier in the day.
I loved how the teachers got right in on the war with their water blasters. No one was safe as Mrs. Robinson took aim!
These kids had a blast getting soaked!
I'm so thankful for the wonderful teachers who planned such fun and memorable activities for my kiddos. They may actually be a little sad when school lets out. . .
