It's strawberry season, so we headed down the road to Gieringer's to do some pickin'!
It was a little chilly, very muddy, and was threatening rain which all served to keep the crowds away! We had the place practically to ourselves!
And there were bright red, perfectly ripe strawberries EVERYWHERE!
Violet was a little freaked out by the mud and wouldn't move, but the rest of the family did a great job filling up our box.
A great harvest in less than a half hour!
Daddy paid for our yummy berries while the kids stood by the slightly crooked, "Grow with us" sign. Calvin was convinced he was 5 foot tall based on this sign!
Then the kids had fun on the hay bales for a while before it was time to go.
I feel so fortunate to have Gieringer's just a few miles from home. Can't wait to go back later in the summer for blueberries, blackberries, and peaches!
