School Christmas Parties

This year, I was so lucky that all 3 of my kids in school had their Christmas parties at different times, so I could go to all of them -- Yippee!  First up was Violet's Gingerbread House Making party.  Oh my goodness, was there a lot of candy to use in building these houses!  Violet was literally a kid in a candy store, much more interested in testing out the candies than actually constructing the house.
It may look like she is building something in this picture, but really she is already deconstructing what I had done.  She ate every single gummy bear that I attempted to put in the snow.
Her one contribution to our project was the pink sprinkles.  Boy did she love the pink sprinkles.
Our finished masterpiece! (Those gummy bears lasted less than 5 seconds after this picture was taken.)
The preschool classroom had a life size gingerbread house for the kids to play in -- so fun!
So much fun with my Violet girl and her preschool class!
Our creation didn't last long once we got home.  Violet may have had her fill, but the other 3 were ready to dig in!
Next up was my big 3rd grader's party!  They did a breakfast party complete with eggs, sausage, bacon, cinnamon rolls, donuts. . .
. . . and fruit disguised at the Grinch!  Calvin found this on Pinterest and it was actually easy!
One of his buddies brought these powdered sugar donut snowmen.  How did we moms ever do Christmas parties before Pinterest??
Calvin's teacher was so brave to let all of these crazy boys sit together the last week before break.  I know they've LOVED it.
Crazy kids!
A few rounds of musical chairs really got the kids going!
The boys in this class are SO competitive.  Calvin was focused as could be the whole time and made it to the final 3 each round.
We finished up the parties in Oliver's first grade classroom.

Of course, things got started with some yummy treats.
Then they played some "minute to win it" Christmas games.  They all did great!
Look at that form on the snowball toss. . .
This was perhaps the quietest game ever played.  The kids had to suck through a straw to pick up marshmallows and then transfer them into a pail.
These kids are having fun!

So thankful to have Carrie as my "partner in crime" in Oliver's class this year.  Her hat was a bit more petite than mine. . .
Some elves I spied in the hallways.  I'll let you guess which elf was made by which boy. . .
To make the day even better, we were given a beautiful blanket of snow last night to really make it feel like Christmas!
And with that, we are officially on Christmas break!  The kids in my house couldn't be more excited!
