Church Christmas Program Double Header

Yesterday morning, we were blessed to see the Christmas story presented in not one, but two children's programs.  First we enjoyed the nativity at our church at 8:30.  Oliver and his sheep buddies were getting ready for their big production. . .
. . . While Calvin and the other shepherds tried to figure out how they were going to keep those animals under control.
Evelyn and Violet were Stars with the other littlest ones of our church.
And doesn't Brynnie make the prettiest angel?
Almost time to head into the sanctuary!
The kids each got to play 2 bell pieces, which they really love.  My Sunday School class, the kindergarten/1st graders did a fantastic job!  I'm so proud of these sweet kiddos.

Calvin's class did really well with their bell pieces also.  Calvin and Tyler were both playing 2 bells and didn't miss a beat!
We won't go into detail on how well Violet did on her bell piece.  And there are no pictures because I was too busy trying to keep her bell quiet.  Oh well, maybe someday??  There ARE a couple of pictures of them before their songs, though.  How cute are these 3 girls?!?
Once the songs got started, Violet left to try dancing with Calvin and Evelyn became a little too concerned about the real baby who was playing Baby Jesus.  She remembers back in the day when SHE was the Baby Jesus!  Kyla kept the show going, thank goodness.
In addition to the bells, the kids sang their little hearts out in the program and reminded us all of that first Christmas.
So we left straight from our church's program and headed to Ottawa where the boys attend Wednesday night church with Grandma Cheryl.  They had been practicing for their Christmas program the past few weeks on Wednesday night, so we made it in time for this one at 10:30.  Talk about a full morning of performances!
The boys got to play a bell piece here as well (although I don't have a picture), but here is Jackson and the older kids playing the real brass bells with Grandma Cheryl conducting.
Oliver and Calvin looked so handsome in the choir pews singing their songs they'd been practicing.
The older kids presented the full Christmas story out of Matthew and Luke.
My boys and the other grade school kids finished with singing "Super Duper Christmas" -- my boys definitely worked their vocal cords throughout the morning!
I love the Christmas story, and there's no better way to hear it than from children.  I feel fortunate that I got to hear it twice yesterday!  Great job, kids!!
