I think one of my favorite things about Christmas is having babies to put Santa hats on! See if you can tell who is who. . .

This last baby had her ENT appointment yesterday. . . She had her hearing tested again, and as I suspected, she is still showing mild/moderate hearing loss. We will have her tested again in a month, and if she still doesn't pass, the doctor said we will start the process of getting her fitted for hearing aids. Also, after the swallow study, the PA with Dr. Singhal called us to let us know that they suspected Violet had developed a fistula (or hole) in her new palate based on where they saw barium going (and staying) during the study (a fistula is one of the primary complications that can occur following palate repair surgery, so of course our Violet would get it, right?). This didn't surprise me at all considering the amount of food I continue to see coming out of her nose. Dr. Latz (the ENT) examined her mouth, and confirmed that she saw the fistula. We'll go back to Dr. Singhal in a month and determine what our plan is for this. In the meantime, we'll just try to keep her nose cleaned out as much as possible, so she doesn't end up with some yucky infection from the food sitting up there.
Hope everyone is having a great time preparing for the Christmas festivities!
