Calvin and some of the other Wellsville track athletes were invited to participate in the Kansas Relays this year, which was really fun! I remember this track meet from my high school days and it's so cool competing with elite athletes from not only all over Kansas, but multiple surrounding states as well.
The official t-shirt had all of the schools represented. There's Wellsville!
It was fun seeing all of the school tents and all of the amazing times, like this gal from Nebraska who ran a 2:06 in the 800!
Also, a Eudora girl won the Steeplechase with a new Kansas record! (She wasn't the one in the water in this pic, in case you were wondering.)
Found my boy!
He ran the 4x4 on Friday and as always, it was the final event of the night. We felt very fortunate that Wellsville was in the 1st of 12 heats! We could've been there another hour easy. Here come our boys!
All of the 3s and 4s found their spots to await their turn with the baton.
Calvin and Nash are nervous, but ready!
Calvin's time!
Finishing strong and handing off to Nash!
Saturday was the 4x8, which Calvin doesn't usually get to run because it's so close to to hurdles. It was fun watching him compete in this one, and he did GREAT!
These boys had a great weekend at the Kansas Relays and I'm so thankful they got this experience!
