On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Luke 24: 1-7
Easter morning started early as always with the kids discovering their Easter basket goodies around 5:30 a.m.
Evelyn was so excited to finally have her own Fingerling! (And please excuse my children's attire; everyone was up late watching the KU game and pajamas never made it out!)
Violet got a sparkly new phone case for her hand-me-down phone from Sam, and some new lunch containers. This girl is obsessed with making lunches these days, and was thrilled with her new containers.
The boys got memory foam mattress pads for their beds in their new rooms and alarm clocks so we don't have to go downstairs to wake them up.
We got all cleaned up and to church in plenty of time for the sunrise service.

After church, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast served by the youth before it was time to head back to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Don't these girls look adorable in their dresses Grandma got for them?
At Grandma's, we started with pictures before the hunt for baskets commenced.
Aren't these kids so sweet?? I think suspenders and bow ties may be a requirement from now on with my boys.
Violet insisted on getting in the picture with Sydney.
Group shots!
Grandma's friend, Kathy, made this special plaque for her recently. The kids all found their names!
Because it was FREEZING outside (literally, it was like 29 degrees), we did the basket hunt downstairs in the dark with flashlights. The kids loved it!
These girls found their baskets. . . and matching swimsuits! Can you tell they like to match?
Grandma got all of the kids ready for summer with their swim gear!
Even though it was cold, my kids are tough and we took a couple of seconds to get an outside picture in our Easter clothes. After all, the snow wouldn't start for a couple more hours. . .
“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth.” (Job 19:25) What a priceless gift to KNOW that my Redeemer lives!
