If you've been following my blog this past year, you've seen me post about sweet Wyatt, the son of my dear friends, Rebecca and Brad. Wyatt was diagnosed with osteosarcoma on Martin Luther King Day and has been receiving treatments for the past 9 months, along with a major surgery called rotationplasty on his leg right around Easter. Well last Thursday marked his FINAL chemo treatment! We all wore our Wyatt's Warriors shirts to cheer him across the finish line! (Evelyn was still sleeping as the other kids left for school, but she was certainly wearing hers as well.)
We had a party at Children's Mercy on Sunday with all of the nurses who have cared so well for him. Lots of happy tears were shed!
He just missed making his numbers to come home on Sunday, but he made quite an entrance back home yesterday as our wonderful Wellsville PD provided a FULL police escort with lights and sirens all the way through town -- it was so awesome! And wonderful friends had their entire yard decorated in signs and balloons to give them a great "Welcome Home!"
For all of you who have prayed so faithfully over these past 9 months, thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU! God has worked so many miracles through this precious child, and we are SO thankful he has crossed this momentous finish line!
