Friday night was the final Senior Night of the year and Calvin's last time to run at our home Redbud track meet.
The whole week had been dreary and rainy, but this day was absolutely PERFECT! Evie and her friends made some mocha frappes in Meghann's classroom to enjoy as they watched the competitions.
Calvin's first event, as always, was the 110 high hurdles. In the prelims, he ran a great race and got a PR by almost half a second!
Calvin and Payton are so much fun to watch -- they really push each other and are great teammates!
Next up, the finals! Calvin had the fastest time in the prelims, but the kid from Spring Hill came on really strong in the finals and edged him out. Calvin still ran a really good time!
Calvin is the prettiest hurdler. It looks like he is literally grabbing his toes in this picture. He's so fun to watch and it's fun hearing others comment, "Look at that guy's form!"
The 300 Intermediates were next and once again, Calvin PR'ed! He ran SO well!
Oliver had a lot of fun at the meet, too. He helped out and hung out with friends. I love how Red Bud brings everyone from the community out. With 19 schools in attendance this year, it was a bustling event!
As the sun set, it got a little cooler, but was still just ideal conditions for a track meet.
Senior night recognition occurred just after the 800. All of us parents gathered on the field together for the last time with our WHS athletes. Burkdoll gave the moms flowers and organized us for the recognition.
Love this boy so much! And thankful for all of the other boys on the track for so many wonderful years of friendship and memories.
A few more pics with friends and family before the mile relay.
Calvin had another great race in the 4x4. Wellsville had a great meet and it was an awesome way for our senior boys to represent on their senior night!
I'm just so proud of him. Next up, League/Regionals/State!!
