My beautiful Violet Joy is 11 years old today! We did a photo shoot yesterday after school, partly because of her birthday, and partly because she picked out her own outfit and was PROUD of how cute she looked! After getting dressed, she pranced out of her bedroom practically singing, "Look at my outfit!" So here are some farm pics, complete with Grandpa Denny's combine, ready for fall harvest.
This girl is ready to party! This morning, she got up and requested to wear her new shirt from Aunt Joy (which matches her new cup also from Aunt Joy, "Best Cat Mom Ever!"). Starting with a little "Happy Birthday" singing. . .
Then she was off to school, where Mrs. Chandler tells me the kids were singing to her before she even made it in the building. I'm thankful for awesome teachers, because as with Evelyn's birthday (and literally every other event this school year) I wasn't allowed to be there for her celebration, but Mrs. Chandler got some good pictures for me!
There's my silly 11-year-old!
I know she had a great time with her friends at school. And before we even got home, Grandma Cheryl called to say she had a surprise waiting at her house. . .
Grandma "Koffie" (Kathy -- Grandma Cheryl's good friend) had made a beautiful sequin-changing unicorn pillow for our unicorn-loving girl! Then she came home to even more presents from her siblings.
She got a new cup (because, really, a girl can NEVER have too many), an LOL toothbrush, some Reece's and Pringles (hence the toothbrush gift), a new shirt and a fuzzy new jacket. She was excited with all of her goodies!
And as if that isn't enough birthday fun for one day, there was still one more surprise in store for her: a giant-double-unicorn-birthday-singing-telegram! We laughed so hard!
The birthday girl got to twin with the big unicorns, wearing the awesome blanket she got from Aunt Dana. Amy and Nicole were a riot -- we had so much fun with their singing telegram!!
What a perfect day celebrating my perfect little gift from God! She brings so much joy into so many lives every single day. I am forever grateful that God chose me to be her mommy!
