Our house was equally gorgeous on the inside and outside, and had AMAZING lake views! Here are a few pics of our awesome accommodations. This place had plenty of room for all 20 of us.
Downstairs were 3 bedrooms and a really nice living area.
Look at these views!
The screened-in-porch was awesome and got plenty of use, especially at mealtime.
All of the meals could easily be cooked in the kitchen and on the grill.
We had our very own hot tub below the back deck, which was great for late-night relaxing.
The infinity pool just down from our house was stunning. We ended up spending a LOT of our time in this relaxing pool and hot tub.
The big activity pool was also super fun!
Here comes Evie on the fast slide!
We couldn't get Violet to go down the slide. She wanted to just hang out with the ladies.
Of course, we were right on Table Rock lake, so we didn't spend ALL of our water time in the pools. We did plenty of swimming and playing in the lake as well. This resort was different than Watermill in that we had a "nature hike" to get to the water. It was really pretty, but also quite strenuous, i.e. John couldn't get there :(
Similar to Watermill, though, there were plenty of water activities available. We spent hours on the paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, paddle boat, and water trampoline. So much fun!
Calvin jumped off the trampoline to try to outswim these ducks -- it was comical as he almost caught them!
Violet especially loved the paddle boat!
As per usual, the boys played lots of mini golf, and it was a really challenging course! I was laughing at one point when I saw two of our guys on their bellies trying to hit their next shot.
Near the mini-golf was the ice cream stand. The girls took advantage of this on a couple of different occasions (even though we also had plenty of ice cream at the house; our kids love their ice cream).
Evenings found us playing lots of shuffleboard and bocce ball.
Violet is the only one in the family to be an "official" bocce ball player. She showed the rest of us how its done.
They also had bikes to ride around (although NOT on the hills -- that would be super scary!). Joy and Evie tried them out for a while one evening.
There was a great arcade and, not surprisingly, the Deterding grandkids dominated in pop-a-shot. Grandma Cheryl also loved playing the great pinball machine.
We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets while there!
And after dark, there was more mini golf to be played -- with LIGHT-UP golf balls!
Hiking back from the lake was also really pretty after dark.
While we were outside most of the time on this trip, Aunt Becky and Uncle John always bring the best games, so we had lots of fun inside our house also. This year's game was "AbDUCKtion: a weirdly strategic duck kidnapping game" and it didn't disappoint! The ducks were adorable and the girls had the best time sabotaging Uncle John's plans every chance they got.
We also completed a 1000-piece puzzle -- Becky is the puzzle-master and a great coach to the rest of us!
We also took plenty of time for straight vacation-relaxation mode.
There was a nice work-out room. . .
. . . which wasn't really necessary. You see, this resort advertises that all of the houses have a lake view, and this is possible because of the rather-large hill it was built on. We got some good workouts just making our way around the resort.
Of course, we didn't ALWAYS walk. While the golf cart was primarily rented for Uncle John, everyone got plenty of use out of it. Especially Miss Vi -- my girl loves her golf carts!
We had some really relaxing nights in the pool's hot tub as well as our private one. The kids also enjoyed some night swimming. It was great having the pool so close to our house!
We also had some great firepit talks.
These views were sure awesome to wake up to each day!
